Venue
ICCS2010 will be held in Beijing, China, at the China National Convention Center (CNCC; http://en.cnccchina.com/) CNCC is located at the center of the park of Olympia Green, adjoining the epic Bird Nest (China National Stadium) and the magic Water Cube (National Aquatics Center). It is easily accessible by subway (Line 8) and more than 20 bus lines, taking you quickly to and from every corner of Beijing, such as the Forbidden City & Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, Heaven Temple, etc.
We would like to highlight here that the World EXPO 2010 (http://en.expo2010.cn/), the largest world-wide event after 2008 Olympic Games involving more than 200 countries, will be taking place in Shanghai in parallel to ICCS2010.
For accommodation, CNCC’s hotel (4-star rated) and Intercontinental Hotel (5-star rated) are recommended. Both hotels are immediately adjacent to CNCC, and offer very competitive rates to ICCS participants. A more economic choice, while uncompromised in quality, is Huiyuan Service Apartments. It is located within a distance of 2km, and a complementary shuttle bus is available.
Walking a few minutes from CNCC to the east, you will find dozens of restaurants covering most of Chinese food varieties. At the north of the Olympia Green you enter the beautiful Olympia Forest Park where the natural atmosphere will refresh your mind from the intensive meetings at ICCS.
About ICCS and IACS
International conference on cognitive science (ICCS) is a bi-annual world-wide academic conference series organized by International Association for Cognitive Science (IACS) and its local partners. The purpose of the conference is to bring together researchers in various active areas in cognitive science for exchanging recent progresses made in various cognitive science research groups from different countries. The previous conferences were held in Korea (1997), Japan (1999), China (2001), Australia (2003), Canada (2006) and Korea (2008), with up to about a thousand participants from all over the world.
IACS is an international organization to provide a forum for the development of cognitive science in the Asia-Pacific and other regions. IACS shall i) organize regular conferences, in particular the International Conference of Cognitive Science (ICCS); and ii) prepare a variety of publications, including ICCS proceedings and Journal of Cognitive Science. The current President of IACS is Professor Lin Chen.
Call for Symposium Topics and Organizers
In order to balance general and special interests of participants, the conference will arrange 12-14 plenary talks by leading cognitive scientists as well as organize symposia for cutting-edge research topics.
